Ron Paul Wins CPAC Straw Poll

Ron Paul has won the CPAC straw poll -- arguably by a land slide!  You can check out the full poll, but here are the presidential poll results:
Thinking ahead to the 2012 Presidential election,who would you vote for as the next Republican nominee for President?
  • Ron Paul -- 31%
  • Mitt Romney -- 22%
  • Sarah Palin -- 7%
  • Tim Pawlenty -- 6%
  • Mike Pence -- 5%
  • Newt Gingrich -- 4%
  • Mike Huckabee -- 4%
  • Mitch Daniels -- 2%
  • Rick Santorum -- 2%
  • John Thune -- 2%
  • Haley Barbour -- 1%
  • Other -- 5%
  • Undecided -- 6%
Yes, Ron Paul got more votes than the next two candidates combined.

  1. It was also the biggest turn-out for the straw poll. Not surprisingly, the result is being explained away as Ron Paul just having more of his people there. Isn't that what elections, real ones, are about? Absurd.

  2. Great point, Carl. Obama won because he had more of his people there. So did Bush. So did Clinton. It is about getting your people to make the difference and affect the outcome.

    As Samuel Adams said,"It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen to set brush fires in people's minds."
